Welcome to Contained Infected Subjects! We are thankful to have you as a part of our department. However, before you begin, you must familiarize yourself with the information provided here. All CIS actors must follow the regulations described on this site. Failure to follow and comply with any of the requirements of the CIS department may result in punishment.
As an Actor within CIS, you have the requirement to fulfill your duty as best as you can and develop interesting stories for everyone, we expect effort and creativity while deployed.
In Character
IC, or In Character is defined when you have your CIS ID visible. When IC, you are required to behave according to your own description of your character. In order to go IC, you must enable your CIS ID by typing "!cisid" command.
Out of Character
CIS are allowed to go out of character, however, in order to go OOC, you must disable your CIS ID by typing “!cisid“, in which your username just be visible again.
You are prohibited from interacting with IC CIS while OOC.
II - 1.2 > Deployment
CIS may only deploy if they have created an entity that has been approved by a Trialing Supervisor+. When deploying, make sure to deploy on the same species as your character, as you may not deploy on any other species that you don't have a character for. However, you can only deploy on a species if a non-combatant personnel specifically requests species for an event that no one around currently has, so make sure to save proof when doing so to ensure you won't be accused of breaking the rules. After the test is over, return to your normal species.
If you plan to claim a temporal CIS ID, fill out the format in #throwaway-characters. You do not need to write a brief description about their personality for this purpose.
II - 1.3 > Exceptions
You may talk to IC CIS while OOC and vise-versa IF you use the whisper feature to privately message the person you’d like to talk to.
II - 1.4 > Throwaway Characters
Throwaway characters- also known as temporary characters are defined as characters that actors can deploy on even without an actual character document. However, these characters are only given on an occasional basis for certain reasons. Such reasons may include:
Creating a throwaway for an event or faction recruitment event (e.g. species wars; applications; Architect tryouts)
Only HR+ approval needs to cover this
Architect HRs+ may approve requests for this reason, but their approval only lasts for the duration of the tryout. This means that the participant must make an official character afterwards, assuming if they pass the tryout.
Creating a throwaway for a test in the event that a non-combatant requests specifically you to get on, since no one around has a character for that species
No approval is needed and you do not need to fill out a throwaway character request. However, at the end of the test, you are absolutely required to fill out a throwaway removal request within the #throwaway-characters channel.
Creating a throwaway to try them out before making them an official character
SHR+ approval needs to cover this
HRs+ are free to create their own throwaway character without approval, as long as a SHR+ is notified
There is no time limit on how long one could use a throwaway character for, unless it is said otherwise by the specific HR/SHR that gave approval.
Be aware that you cannot log any events as a throwaway character. This means that you cannot gain any event points from that character, nor can you log the event portion of your quota as them, but you are allowed to log your time as said character.
To prevent constant site disruption, certain limitations are set on how much havoc an actor can cause.
> Hostility
You cannot go hostile OOC, but you can use self-defense against TS and UN during official raids.
Only exception to this rule above; you can attack any Arsonist members that enter the CISCZ. (i.e. inner, outer, upper)
You cannot attack UN unprovoked. In the event that UN attack CIS, you are more than free to attack UN in self-defense. This applies to RAH as well.
You may not capture flags OOC. Feel free to grab any weapons from it, but you can only use it IC.
You may not infect as infecting with the infect tool is considered hostility.
You may kill TS that ask for infection without being attacked first.
Pipe bombs are prohibited, don't even pick one up.
Do not order Cup of [Player], cup of dado juice/SCP-3832 at Instance-294.
It is important to note that ordering and giving drinks that harm or kill others is considered hostile behavior. You may, however, order such drinks for yourself without it counting as hostility.
Purposely triggering the laser gate in order to kill facility personnel is counted as hostility.
You are prohibited causing havoc within inner and outer CISCZ if there is 2+ IC CIS. I.e escape to the upper CISCZ, throwing smokes, open the gate, go on the rafters to annoy the facility personnel and disrupt their duties.
You may not assist in any TS activities that'll cause site instability.
This includes helping them open U4/Silo, assisting them with capping flags, healing/reviving, bodyshieldsing, assisting them with NAD/NAK, etc.
If you get civilian clothes as an OOC CIS, you are still considered CIS even if your team has switched to Civilian. This means that you will still abide by the existing hostility regulations.
> Breaching/Escaping
Breaching means successful unauthorized escape from your containment zone. Escaping OOC is not forbidden, however you are prohibited from going to S2, TSCZ and Warhead Silo.
Note that entering Liam's is allowed, but dropping into S2 without permission is not.
Anything beyond the marked passageways in the pictures is classified as S2:
The only exception to this rule are the No-CoE Zones. You may bypass the regular hostility rules in the zone.
The regulations for No-CoE are:
Abide by the No-CoE boundaries within B1.
You may not abuse the No-CoE Zone.
For instance: running away from a combative and evacuating to a No-CoE Zone where you can harm them.
You cannot be hostile in Maxiburger.
Avoiding staying in the zone for longer than 30 minutes.
Avoid causing havoc if there is an ongoing event nearby (CIS walks, Maxiburger events, etc.).
You cannot infect anybody.
This is a privilege. Do not abuse the No-CoE excessively. Remember that we are an acting team!
> Hostility
In order to go hostile In Character, you must make sure that at least one of the following criteria is met:
Your character is being verbally or physically provoked.
Your character's life is threatened.
Character's/Species specific behavioral reason (your entity must have an appropriate behavioral reason, either described in the Acting Standards or developed as a result of events experienced by your character).
Passive: Hostility will be considered a last resort when you find yourself in a life-threatening situation and escape is no longer possible. In this case, you may only kill facility personnel and GoI allies who are pursuing you or attempting to kill you. If there is no threat of harm, your entity will seek refuge.
Neutral: In this case, hostility is considered a form of self-defense in response to over-provocation, as well as pursuit with objects such as drones and vehicles by facility personnel and allied GoIs. In such circumstances, you must first warn the provocative personnel, and if they continue, you can either down or kill them.
Aggressive: Entities with this behavior type can attack at the slightest provocation (e.g. defending their territory and traits described in the Specimen Page in the Acting Standards and If there are certain realistic behavioral reasons that are described in your character's database.)
Effects, such as hypnotism and/or cup of bravery will allow your character to temporarily bypass their criteria depending on their respective behavioural category. Be mindful with how many times your character is under these effects. Do not abuse this by excessively going hostile! Some other effects that fall under this are:
Cup of life
Cup of courage
Cup of rage
While this won't be as strictly enforced, please avoid fullkilling others unless it is out of self-defense.
> What Counts As Provocation?
Irritating drones.
Irritating individuals, especially if they refuse to go away after being warned.
Friends/accomplices/etc. of the character who are getting harmed.
In this case, characters may defend these individual(s). However, you must take your character's behavioural classification and behaviour specifics into consideration. Passive characters will likely never do this. On the other hand, Neutral characters may, and Aggressive characters will immediately jump in.
Is the fight worth it? In other words, is it worth your character's mortality to defend somebody else? Be aware of how dangerous the perpetrator is.
Individuals that may seem like a threat.
In most cases, it would be Aggressive characters who will actually go out of their way to physically react to these individual(s).
Other more direct situations, such as a test subject pointing a gun at you is also considered provocation, especially for Neutral characters. However, do remember to take Fear RP into account. Will your character rush at somebody outrightly pointing a gun at them?
Other instances that you feel is fit, as long as it is reasonable.
> Amnestics Regulations [IC only]
You may use amnestics for acting purposes, but your character must learn about them first. In order to use amnestics on other CIS characters or personnel, you MUST ask OOC permission from the character owner before use.
> Breaching/Escaping
Escape IC will be considered justified if it has a realistic reason. What qualifies as a realistic reason?
Prolonged mental and physical pressure on your character by facility personnel.
Attack by hostile forces.
A specific species behavioural reason described in the Specimen Card in the Acting Standards.
A specific reason appropriate to your character (you must provide a realistic and detailed reason for your character's escaping from CISCZ. This must include what motivates your character to escape and how that motivation developed.)
Note that no behavioral trait is allowed to bypass set rules unless it’s described in the Specimen Page. Exploration trait may NOT be used as an excuse to constantly escape your containment zone and will count as loopholing (this trait can be expressed in ways that do not include loopholing).
As a general rule of thumb, do not escape constantly. Your character would likely be too stressed or hurt to continue to do so further.
If applicable, ensure you genuinely act out the injuries you have gained after being recontained within the CISCZ.
> UN Neutrality [IC & OOC]
CIS holds a Neutrality pact with UN, meaning you are not to interfere with any UN raids.
This means you are not to harm UN except in self-defense, nor should you assist UN in any raids.
Assisting consists of: you shooting combatant personnel that are shooting at UN, helping UN capture flags, providing other types of aid to UN: hacking doors for hostiles, distracting combatants, healing UN, reviving UN, etc.
In short, any form of a way to help UN gain the advantage during a raid, counts as assisting.
This excludes being taken by UN.
> AFKing IC
While some characters are solitary and prefer to be alone, this does NOT excuse to you be AFK at all while IC.
You are free to AFK if you're still at your computer. If you have to use the bathroom, clean the dishes, etc. Go OOC during that time.
Events are an essential tool for ranking up. Denying other CIS access to gaining points to rank up is behavior we strongly discourage and punish accordingly. What falls under this term? Ruining events is when your actions cause an event to be canceled or severely disrupted intentionally. This includes events involving CS as well, but those cases may have some leniency if it is reasonable.
You are not allowed to ruin events listed on the Events page, as defined above. You also may not leak events to external communications.
This only applies to events CIS are in.
Like any department within TSC, we follow, at least partially, the Code of Ethics issued by the Ethics Committee.
V - 1.1 > Sections of the CoE
Sections A & F must be followed by CIS at all times, even during “No CoE“ events. A prior A2 infraction on your record will result in exile, depending on the severity.
The CIS department is high demanding in quality, and is a essential part of the experience on TSC. You will be punished more harshly here due to that, as a good reputation is integral, especially for us.
VI - 1.1 > Professionalism
You are expected to behave respectfully to everyone, and not involve yourself in childish behavior like harassment or toxicity towards anyone.
Specifically, you are not allowed to participate in the following actions:
Degeneracy: This offense is separated into two categories. The first category is "Minor Offenses" which will only warrant a disciplinary strike, the next is "Major Offenses" that'll warrant an instant blacklist. Minor offenses only affect the CIS server, TSC main server, and in-game (CIS team and its divisions). Major offenses affect anywhere, whether in DM's, non-TSC related servers, etc.
Minor Offenses
Meowing
Barking
UwUfying your text
Behaving like a toddler
Major Offenses
Erotic Roleplay
Fetish-Related activities
Posting NSFW/or anything remotely suggestive
Having anything sex related
Harassment: Harassing anyone, whether it be constant threats, insults, doxing threats, ddosing or offending anyone in TSC will not be tolerated.
VI - 1.2 > Common Sense
You are expected to hold common sense within your actions, things that you are not allowed to do normally, is probably also not allowed here. If you are unsure about something, ask an HR instead of abusing a loophole. Failing to have this basic skill disqualifies your membership within CIS.
VII - Logging Legitimacy [LIGHT]
The purpose of this section is to help you outline what we expect from you when writing a diary log or in-character event description, and what criteria we expect you to meet in order for it to be considered valid.
The following criteria has to be met in order for an IC event to be counted as valid:
The contents have to describe what occurred during a event in the perspective of the entity that attended such event while in the CISCZ.
Optional: Effects could be used as a way to outline memories.
It has to have decent grammar.
It has to follow proper formatting.
You have put some effort into it.
Don’t just “ok i saw a shark, i hate him end of diary“.
Do: Try to formulate it like a real diary or description of what the entity has experienced, and try to give the impression that the entity is writing down their thoughts about the day or event.
You may do it in a different style for creative purposes, but if it's seen as an obviously lazy entry, you risk denial.
We do expect the content of your logs to be good in terms of quality, though more does not mean better.
Failure to meet these criteria may result in denial of your log.
VII - 1.1 > IC Event Log Validity
In order for your IC log to be valid, you need to include in your log the following:
Roblox Username:
ID of the entity you attended the event on:
Date of attendance:
Type of event:
Description of what the entity experienced:
The effects that the event has on your entity:
Screenshot of you attending the event, with the event hosts name visible and the date visible:
Some events require a certain amount of sentences in order to be accepted. Such as:
Walks/Free roams required a 2 sentence minimum.
Other events that are not a Walk/Free roam require a 4 sentence minimum.
The only exception to this would be if you experienced an event so many times to where your character's effects have not majorly changed in the slightest.
Events must have a "During" screenshot, for example:
Walks are typically outside of CTZ, so any image of the walk being outside of CTZ (Even at CTZ Bridge) will count as a "During" screenshot.
Screenshots that only show the start or end of the event will not count. (i.e. standing at the briefing line, standing in Outer/Inner CISCZ at the end)
VII - 1.2 > OOC Event Log Validity
In order for a Out Of Character log to be valid, you need to include in your log the following:
Roblox Username:Date of attendance:Type of event:Screenshot of you attending the event, with the event hosts name visible and the date visible:Each event can only be logged once, and only events listed in the Events section are loggable events.
VIII - !Lorechar Regulations [Moderate]
The command is useful for displaying physical ailments or appearances not achievable by using the wardrobe.
This is a In-Character only feature, do not use it while Out-of-Character.
VIII - 1.1 > Accessories
You may only remove accessories if one of the following conditions are met:
The accessory is removable by the wardrobe
The wardrobe is broken
The wardrobe is out of reach
You may not remove the ankle monitor regardless of these conditions, unless the leg it's on has been forcefully severed.
VIII - 1.2 > Body parts
You may only remove body parts if one of the following conditions are met:
The body part has been severed forcefully
In which case you must act out the event
The body part has never been present
In which case it must be mentioned in your character file
In the case of your character missing a body part, you must remain realistic about the movement and behavior of your character resulting the effects of their missing body part, examples include, but are not limited to:
If your character has 1 leg, they must crawl at all times
If your character has no legs, they must prone at all times
Both don't apply if your character has crutches, is being supported by another character, or has found some other way to support themselves.
